Economy & ethics

Adopting a whole new kind of biotechnology is a big move for an organization, whether it be a company or even a country. So before an organization or the public can do so, some questions have to be asked. Firstly, if recombinant proteins made by transgenic plants make its way to the general market, would it affect the economy? Who would have to invest? Who would feel the gains? These issues are addressed in the economy section.

Secondly, what is the individual's responsibility towards using this new biotechnology? Are these recombinant proteins unethical? Might not one contend that they are unnatural, and toying with accelerated evolution? Such questions are explored in the bioethics section.
